Joined August 21, 2007
I went veg at age 14, in the ‘70s. I ended up becoming anemic in college (we didn’t have the knowledge or the many vegetarian products we do now!) So, to make a long story short, I went back to an omniverous diet, but then went back veg in the 90s, vegan in 98, raw a few years ago, then went back to college and dropped the raw but not the vegan. Now I’m back raw because I ate too many vegan convenience foods and gained weight and was getting unhealthy!

I don’t really buy into the enzyme theory – I’m pre-med and from my studies so far in biology, I believe we have all the enzymes we need for our bodies to digest and use food. However being raw keeps me healthy. I’m not religious about it, and will probably add cooked food back into my diet up to a certain balanced proportion as I lose weight.
