Is 8 tablespoons correct? Does this actually take a half cup of curry powder? I love panang curry and will be making this tomorrow!

Yes I really did use 8 Tbls of yellow curry I started with 5 but kept adding a tablespoon at a time until I liked the flavor you can use less.
I love a strong curry flavor, you can cut back if you want just taste and adjust to your liking. I hope it works out for you, let me know how it goes. :)
Also my mother in law ask me to make just the sauce for a dip for a party she had yesterday and everybody loved it with raw veggie sticks.

I'm so sorry you didn't like the curry, I know how it is to make something and not like it. :( I adjusted amount of curry in the recipe so others don't have the same problem as you did.
If you haven't tossed it in the trash you could try and add more of the other spices, nut butter, and more oil to mellow out the curry flavor.

Panang Curry
that was totally gross and a waste of a bunch of money. i follow direction very well but that was way too much curry. maybe i had the wrong kind of curry(got it from an "indian" market), but that was nasty.
