i changed the proportions to what seemed right
based upon the size of my apples (i used two small fujis)
and increased the crans to 3c.

This was excellent, & the cranberry sauce-loving, non-raw foodie at the table yesterday was raving about how great it was. I added the zest from the orange plus a few pecans to mine, & it worked really well. I have some left over & I'm thinking of stirring in a few blended raspberries to make the left-overs a little different.

for me
definitely leave the skin on the apple
when i used organic oranges
i used the peel too or part of it
today i'm making it and don't have any oranges
but i do have some tangerine and orange rind i dried
so i'm using that
and some grapefruit juice to soak the dried fruits
happy thanksgiving

Do you peel the orange and the apple? Or do you leave the skin on?

Awesome, i have experimented with all sorts of cranberry recipes this season. Add a persimmon or two, and you have something that is sooooo good.

Hi All,
I found this recipe somewhere else this year and made it for Thanksgiving and just made some more just now.
(and i completely forgot i'd posted about it before too!)
I used 3 c. of cranberries both times i've made this (instead of 2 c.)
as well as 2 (smaller) fuji apples (instead of 1)
and stay with the single orange (skin and all : organic )
the first time i made it it was the perfect consistency for me
crunchy but oh so perfect
this time
i guess i processed it differently and wound up with more of a sauce...
so
i just put some in freezer pop molds and will (mmm) report back
i'm sure they'll taste really good :)
just thought i'd see if this recipe was here and
of course it is
Yum.
Totally enjoyable anytime cranberries
are around.
xo...

This is AWESOME!!! I make it every week now that cranberries are in season and inexpensive around the holidays. It makes me wonder why people buy it cooked in a can in the first place?! LOVE IT!

Cranberry Sauce
Deceptively simple but truly YUMMY! I added walnuts and a bit of coconut meat. I had to make myself stop eating it. Can't wait for tomorrow and see what my friends think. Someone else is bringing a traditional cranberry sauce, but I bet the raw one disappears first!
Thanks!

Something that I really like about this recipe (and cranberry sauce in general) is that it really doesn't matter that it is raw - it is just plain delicious! And so easy to share with family.

This was fantastic. I'm bringing to my family today for Thanksgiving and do not plan on telling them it's raw until it's all gone! I followed the suggestion and added walnut pieces and cinnamon. I also added a little vanilla which makes this more of a dessert than anything else!

Mmm! I'm going to try this with walnuts, red grapes and pineapple chunks, along with a raw sweet/sour creamy dressing on the side.

The walnuts add great texture. I used to add them all the time to my cooked version, but I like your raw one much better. I just wish I could find more raw cranberries this time of year.

Thanks for the recipe Kandace. It's quick and easy to make, and even nonraw eaters will enjoy it. I whipped up a quick batch, with some added walnut pieces and orange zest, cinnamon and ginger, to bring to a holiday gathering yesterday. No one missed the heat.
