Ingredients
- 1 cup tomatoes (chopped)
- 1/4 cup cashews
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 small clove garlic
- 1/2 cup more diced tomatoes (reserve - do not blend)
Recipe Directions
- 1. Throw all ingredients (except last 1/2 cup of tomatoes) in a high-speed blender and blend up 'til nice and smooth and well mixed. You can let this raw tomato soup recipe blend in the Vitamix or Blendtec blender for a little extra time so that the heat of the blades and the friction actually warm up this delicious, creamy raw tomato soup recipe.
- 2. Transfer raw tomato soup to a bowl. Add the remaining 1/2 cup of diced tomatoes and mix gently with a spoon.
- 3. Garnish the raw tomato soup recipe with sunflower sprouts! Eat immediately.
The Rawtarian's Thoughts
By The RawtarianRaw tomato soup recipe - Does that sound tasty to you? For some reason I was really turned off by the idea of raw soups for a long time. For two years, actually! I was turned off of raw soups because I once made a raw vegan beet soup that was very gross and watery!
But I finally gave raw soups another go and was pleasantly--and I mean very pleasantly--surprised by my raw tomato soup recipe!
What I like about this recipe is that it's so easy. I mean, you've got tomatoes and cashews, basically. Can't get much easier than that!
A lot of other raw tomato soups call for avocados, but I like this recipe because I always have cashews on hand in my pantry so I can make it any time--rather than having to make sure I have a perfect avocado on hand.
This raw tomato soup recipe makes a nice big bowl for one person. :)

Raw tomato soup recipe
I made this soup a couple of nights ago, and something came up and I was not able to eat it right away. So I placed it in my fridge thinking I will eat it for dinner the following day. When I got home I pulled out my soup, and decided to eat it cold, as our night here on my island have been really hot and humid. I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed this soup!!!!! It was not only creamy and tasty, but it was the perfect dish to combat the hot and humid weather we have be having lately on my tropical island of Guam. Thank you for such a simple and delicious dish. To compliment the tomato soup, I also had a cold side of your egg salad recipe...phenomenal!!!! There are two things that I find most amazing about both recipes is that they are both simple to make and require a few ingredients...pure genus!!!! Both the egg salad and tomato soup recipe are definitely keepers!!!!!! Thank you!!!!

Raw tomato soup recipe
Yum! I made a version of this today and loved it. I am not big on following measurements and I used cilantro instead of sun dried tomatoes. Basically I threw some tomatoes , garlic, cilantro, cashews and water in the blender and turned it on. The result; heaven. Can't wait to try the red pepper (capsicum) soup next.
Thank you for the inspiration. This is my fave recipe site now.

Raw tomato soup recipe
This tomato soup is awesome! This was the first raw soup in my life. I have done it twice already and always for 2, so I doubled everything. But the second time I put in 1 cup of water instead of the 1 1/2 cup and added 1 extra tomato instead. Yummmm! I will try all your recipes. :))

This is really delicious. I must remember to use a very small garlic clove next time though!

For those who don't have a high quality blender, a trick to keep the cashews from gumming up the blender, and avoiding chunks, is to grind up just the cashews in a food processor first and then adding them to the blender with the rest of the ingredients. This is the first raw soup recipe I tried. The idea of cold soup (well, room temperature) kinda freaked me out but I didn't let myself think too hard about it and it was amazing! I gobbled it down. For a bit of extra texture and fun I added some pumpkin seeds.

I made this soup for supper tonight - what a relief! My last raw attempts about 2 years ago were mayhem - green potions in the fridge gathering mould while I tried to convince myself to hold my nose and glug them down; masses of splattered and caked kitchen equipment; amused friends, an unmistakable twinkle in the eye of my ever encouraging (meat eating, fish and chips fan) fiance... until I put away the raw recipe book and told myself it must all be a farce anyway. But tonight! A delicious meal, preparation time closer on zero than anything else I've ever prepared, genuinely impressed husband, teenage nephew going back for seconds - wonderful!! I didn't have cashews so I substituted half avo and half macadamias. And I did it with a cheap stick blender and it was still great.
Thank you so much! I'm a FAN!

Hmmmm - I've been looking at that psyllium husk bread you do with big eyes... but don't have a dehydrator yet and budget a bit tight for the next little while. What can you recommend that is super easy, savoury, and can be done with a blender only? Think I might be trying the red pepper soup next! Yum!

Hi Paula! I don't tend to make a lot of savory recipes in my blender. I tend to use my food processor for many savory recipes. (totally recommend getting a food processor as your next purchase when the budget allows. they are awesome, and you can get one on sale for 1round $50.) But to answer your question, you are on the right track with the soups! If you liked the tomato then you are going to love the raw red pepper soup.
You could definitely try making "raw macaroni and cheese" in your blender. Very yummy, and for noodles you can just use a carrot/potato peeler to make "noodles" out of zucchini. Also good in a blender, my "raw egg salad" recipe. (search for these in search bar)
Hope this helps! xox
