can you eat mushrooms raw

I love mushrooms but was always NOT to eat them raw. Is this true? I once ate a  raw Mango Mushroom salad and loved it. But not sure if the mushrooms were grilled beforehand.

    You should be able to eat them raw. I always have.

    Ive heard that button and portabella types are the ones you shouldnt eat raw. Ive eaten lots of oysters marinated in oil vinegar and garlic with no bad reaction

    Is it safe to eat Raw mushrooms as they are largely indigestible because of their tough cell walls
