How much is in the recipe? Sub another oil if you have any. Don't sub an acidic like lemon. If all else fails, water.
Thanks, it was only two tablespoons so I ended up using water, but I won't make it to the grocery store for a few days anyway, and I'm sure it will come up again.
You don't have any oil? You could use flax or hemp.
We sometimes use coconut oil/coconut butter unless it is something you need to keep refrigerated, which would cause it to become solid :) Also avocado would help to thicken something like oil.
I like to use chia seeds soaked in water...for 1 cup oil I would do 2 T to 1/4 cup chia and 3.4 - 1 cup water.
