I have been a fingernail biter all of my life. I am 47 years old. I have been a dietary vegan, and mostly raw for about 4 months. It occurred to me a week or so ago that I suddenly have fingernails.. and have not been biting them!! What on earth is up with that?
I have not even tried to stop the habit of “trimming them” with my teeth, and I think that it was just a subconscious habit at this point. Now I need to go out and buy a file because they are getting longish. wtf???
Do you suppose that I had a deficiency of some sort that was causing me to bite my nails way way short?? Or have they been growing in thicker and they have been tougher for me to bite? I dont even pay attention to all of that. I have not even tried to stop biting them.. it just happened this way. So weird!

I’ve always been told that it’s caused by stress/nervousness and since I went raw I’ve been able to deal with stress way better and I feel like my body is balanced. Maybe that has something to do with you quitting.
By the way, that’s really awesome! Some of my nervous or subconscious habits have dwindled and I have sooo much more focus at work.
