I read this in my mom’s Women’s Day, so who knows cause that magazine is ridiculous but the article talked about medium chain fatty acids and something about how it promoted weight loss and they had some fad diet thing. Anyway, I think it’s a good fat.
hmmm, Ok I am going against the whole coconut grain here when I say that the oil does not contribute at all to my weight loss.
I find that I put on weight when eating coconut-oil. My guess is this is because I do not know the meaning of the word moderation when it comes to coconut butter and oil but for some reason the concentrated fat does not help me in losing weight at all. Maybe if I had more weight to lose, it would be more helpful, but I currently feel that I do better without it even though I love the taste in my recipes.
I haven’t had good luck with coconut oil, but I do think I lose weight when I eat fat from avocados. And I always notice that my skin looks smoother and more even when I am eating lots of avocado. I would say try eating a few tablespoons of the oil a day and see what it does for you. Everyone is different so you’ll never know until you try it!
yes, coconut can help you lose weight. The catch is that you HAVE to get cold pressed virgin coconut oil. Not only is it a good fat but it is full of other nutrients. I use it on my skin, and also in my smoothies. This may be slightly TMI but when I put it in my smoothies it’s almost like it lubes my digestive system and make me more regular than ever.
Hm I guess I will experiment for awhile, and see what happens! Thanks for everyone’s thoughts =.=
it has been working for me! there is a whole book on it. search amazon.
Mmm…nope, it does the OPPOSITE of making me lose weight. But then again, I can’t seem to limit myself to 1 tablespoon…I eat more the likes of one TABLE full of coconut oil. ;P
I hope this is true. Especially since I read in the ‘Oil-Pulling’ thread that coconut oil can be swished as an alternative. Killing to birds with one stone?
Where do you buy Cocovida, lulushka? I looked online but it would be $27.98 + $30.00 shipping, which is outrageously, hilariously, um, cost prohibitive.
Drat. Thanks for the info!
