Red currants

I picked the most gorgeous red currants at my parents house yesterday. Some of them were almost the size of grapes – so beautiful. My Mom is planning on making red currant jelly with the ones that I put in her freezer. I have taken some home and am curious what to do with them. They are a bit bitter to just eat alone. Does anyone have any ideas?
