Fresh Pecans

What's the best way to prepare/store freshly shelled pecans? I have about 4 pounds from a friend's tree that I want to store properly. Would dehydrating be a good idea?

Hmm I'm not sure about fresh pecans, but I do store bulk nuts in my freezer. Then I just thaw out small batches and go from there.
