Hi Fee,
I used some superfoods during my last pregnancy, and am with my current pregnancy as well. I used maca, lucuma, goji, and a few others. The only one I was cautious to keep in moderation was cacao, and some don't consider that a superfood anyway.
Hi thanks for that. I have been swapping some of my cacao for carob to try and limit the amount Im having, but I have certainly cut down on what I was eating at one point already which quite surprises me when I think about it.
Im struggling to eat anywhere near fully raw though - completely gone off carrots which is a real shame as I actually have a tub of them in the garden which I grew from seed! Never mind Im happier being pregnant than eating my home grown carrots.

Just stay positive and don't "beat yourself up" over some of the food stuff right now. I made that mistake with my last pregnancy....I was so excited to have a 100% raw pregnancy because I had read a few stories about women who have done it. When I wasn't able to I was really hard on myself and ended up not enjoying half my pregnancy just because I thought there was truly something wrong with me if I wasn't able to have what those other women did. But, I ate as raw as I could, and the rest veg. with no processed foods, and finally realized that I was still doing WAY better than the majority of women in our society today. Then, when I had my daughter, my body just went right back to craving the high level of raw it had before I got pregnant...no rhyme or reason to it. Now that I am pregnant again, I am enjoying this pregnancy much more because I am not beating myself up over not being 100% raw, though I am still above 60%, and I am fine with that for now. I look forward to returning to my higher raw diet after this new baby is born.
Hi,
Congratulations on your pregnancy! How far along are you? We think I am about 11 weeks now and are very excited as it is our first one.
Are there any foods that I should avoid? I know about the ones like pate and liver and raw eggs etc (all the stuff I don't eat!) but what about the stuff I do.
If you have time would you be able to put down what you eat in an average day so I can see if I am doing okish.
Im sorry for all the questions but thank you for all your help so far.

Sadly I am having a miscarriage - it was a blighted ovum. Nice sac - no baby. Still keeping positive. It will happen again
fee, i'm very sorry to hear that. i wish i could say something inspirational but i can't imagine how you are feeling. my thoughts are with you.
Thanks JB, it just helps knowing that others are thinking of me.
Is it save to take msm while pregnant?
Since spina bifocal occurs during the first 28 days of conception, all women of childbearing age are encouraged to supplement their diet with folio acid. Therefore, any woman planning a pregnancy should begin taking folic acid immediately.
prenatal vitamins before pregnancy
I personally wouldnt use any of the above whilst pregnant, some of these are herbs(maca), some are synthetic compounds(MSM) etc. None of these have a great deal of research into there safety and implications for being used whilst pregnant and the ones which do all recommend its probably smart not to consume them.
Im a big fan of many of the above but it isnt worth risking.

Update......
After my miscarriage in 2009 I am now the very proud mummy of a seven and a half week old beautiful daughter!
