I agree with your yoga instructor. In Thunderbolt, you massage the marmas on the backs of you calves which stimulate digestion. If you rub the backs of your calves with your hands, you can feel your digestive tract work-- it's really amazing!

*tangent* I like to use a stool (no pun intended) for the bathroom.... it allows me to be in a more squatting position and that helps move things along. And I like to massage my "colon" to help things move along too.
I've noticed how chewing stimulates digestion... and now, I'll have to try out that calves-massage!
